Timers

Overview

Time tracking is an essential part of our day-to-day. Time tracking ensures that we can build and show time/human capital investment in Projects and Matters.

The Timer feature has been built to save you time and is a flexible option that works with your day-to-day tasks across both Matters and Projects.

Let's see how it works.

Permissions

As a user with Timer permissions, you will be able to Create, View and Edit Time Entry Data from the Portal.

To access Timers, you need to have the following permissions.

  • Client.View
  • Client.Create
  • Client.Edit
  • Client.Delete

Add a New Timer

We can start and track, active or paused Timers from the Timer icon in the icon menu.

Click on the green + button to start a Timer.

Add a description in the free text box to help you differentiate between the different tasks you are tracking time against.

Once you have a Timer running you will see a Blue ring running around the Timer icon.

Pause, Resume or Delete a Timer

Pause

We can stop a Timer at any stage by clicking on the yellow pause button. An active Timer will be paused if you click to add a new Timer, or click to resume a previously paused Timer.

Resume

Click the green play button to resume a previously paused Timer.

Delete

If a Timer was started in error, it can be deleted by clicking the blue trash button.

Submit a Timer

Once you have finished tracking your Time it can be logged to Sales, Matters or Projects by clicking on the red stop button. This will prompt you to select the correct area to log your time. You can then define the properties for your time entry. Date, Description and Units will be set based on your Timer, but they can be edited.
