Admin - Remunerations
Overview
The Remunerations table is used as a system of record for each user, setting out the following information:
- The Users Name,
- Remuneration Date,
- FTE Load,
- Remuneration Incl. Super,
- Billing Rate,
- Billable Percentage,
- Commencement Date, and
- Termination Date.
From these data points we are able to build up some calculated values including:
- Cost per hour,
- Annual KPI incl. Super,
- Annual Billable Time KPI incl. Super, and
- Annual Invoiced Time KPI incl. Super.
Permissions
Remunerations is only available to Admin users with the Remunerations Role Permissions.
As a user with Remunerations permissions, you will be able to Create and View the Remunerations table from the Portal. Please note that the Edit and Delete functions of this feature have been disabled deliberately and any changes to a Remuneration record should be discussed with the developer team.
Create a New Remuneration Record
To Create a new remuneration record, navigate to the Administration > Accounts > Remunerations tab.
Click on + Add Remuneration Record.
You will be presented with the Create Remuneration Modal.
The input values are defined by the following fields:
- Remuneration Date: This is an “Action” date or a date that a change becomes effective. When a user changes any values for a user on this table the remuneration date must be updated to represent the date that the change becomes effective.
- FTE Load: Is a unit of measurement that indicates the workload of an employed person.
- 1: would represent 100% or Full time
- 0.5: would represent 50% of Part-Time
- Remuneration Incl. Super: This is the total remuneration for the employee inclusive of Superannuation if they were employed on a full-time basis.
- Billing Rate: This is the hourly rate that a Lawyer is allowed to bill their clients for work conducted on a matter.
- Billable Percentage: This is a weighted percentage that help the team assess how much of a lawyer's time is Billable. This rate is adjusted over time as the move between the PQE levels. Typically, the Billable rate will come down as the user moves up the PQE level and is more involved in Reviewing matters. The direct impact of an adjusted Billable rate is the users KPI's will be adjusted.
- Commencement Date: This is the date that the user started at the company.
- Termination Date: This is the date that the users relationship with the company was terminated.
Additional pieces of data that are captured include:
- Inserted At Date
- Updated At Date.
- Business Area (Currently being added directly in the database table)
Edit a Remuneration
As we highlighted earlier, we have restricted access to the edit functionality. For each of the following use cases a new remuneration record should be created.
Use case:
- I want to add a new user.
- I want to update the user's salary.
- I want to update the fte load or billable percentage for a user.
- I want to terminate a user.
If you have inadvertently entered the wrong information for a user, please contact the dev team to amend the record.
